New Pics

Here is the link (it is the same as before) New tivoli pics....

Y'all would love this place

I guess when there is drama, amazing sights, lack of sleep, and extensive walking, you know your weekend is a success. Friday night I had a full discotec experience. I went to this club, which practically reminded me of a movie. I literally thought I was back in LA, but ironically most people were speaking Italian. First of all, there was a line to get in, but one of my friend started networking, so they let us in for free. Second, everyone looked entirely too glamorous, and I felt out of place. Third, there was ABSOLUTELY no way I would EVER buy a drink there, seeing that they were 15 Euro a pop. It was fun though, we danced until the bitter end.

On Saturday, Mindy embarked upon our own Journey. We went to Tivoli and it was literally amazingly beautiful. We went to this Villa, and there were probably about 50 waterfalls in the garden. It was really inspiring as an artist, and I want to go back. There was also a castle in the town, which is always a plus in my book. I really love exploring, and I have been taking thousands of pictures, because I am hoping to use them in my art. I am also really to have Mindy with me, because she is such a cool traveling buddy. There is too much drama in this program, but I am glad I get to experience Italy with a really genuine person, although who knows when she will get sick of me.

Also, I think I am starting to learn Italian a little bit, which is exciting.

I am really starting to believe that it is the simple things in life that really matter. (Sorry for my scatter brain thoughts, but it is kind of how I think). I think it is when you are away, it is when you really appreciate the people you love and that love you. I really miss my family, sasha and sadie and carrie and alyssa, and all of my Jews, because they are my people more than anything. Ok...now that I have starting talking about my feelings, I will ciao ciao!

A little Message from Jenny!

To my friends and loved ones!

I have been here for a month, and have survived thus far! This week has been quite interesting. Today, I went to the Doctor, to check out my ears, and he said to me "Is your sexy voice the reason you came to visit me?" This was referring to my raspy voice. He also asked me if I was partying to much and riding on mopeds with Italian boys. It was quite a strange encounter, especially with an old Doctor from Holland. Hmmmmm.

Anyway, tonight I went to my first cooking class. It was pretty fun. I learned a lot, even though I did not necessarily like the food, especially because I am a partial vegetarian, and we made meatballs. Although, they smelt good, and I am pretty sure members of my family would enjoy them, if I were to in fact utilize my cooking skills. We made meat balls, asparagus (with some crazy sauce), and vodka pasta (Mollie would really like this one). It was pretty fun, although I am not going to the lie, the pasta was very heavy and the whole ordeal cost 20 Euros. But I am excited to cook for everyone!

Basically, I have been studying, planning my spring break, and taking cooking classes. It is pretty stressful trying to plan two weeks of traveling, but I am really excited. So far, I am going to Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, and Austria. I am really looking forward to it! Well it is time for bed, seeing that I have my worst class tomorrow, in which I must walk a mile a minute and ya....keep up! Ciao!

Adventure

I went on an adventure today. Basically, I have been deathly ill again, yes I know I am a hypochondriac, but my point is there is nothing open in Italia on Sundays, well at least not where I live. So, it makes if very difficult to get drugs, especially when you are dying. My RAish lady, is possibly the nicest woman I have ever met, and she took me to get medicine, which was definitely  crazy experience. We met this nice 78 year old woman, on our path to farmacia discovery. And she told us that the only pharmacy open was at the main train station, called termeni. Together we made a long treck through the subway with this little Italian woman, who spoke in Italian to us the entire way. She told me everything I can do to help my cold, and feel better. She was so cute, taking the subway and guiding us through the station. It was literally an experience of a lifetime.

Bella

Bourjorno! I'm sorry I haven't written in a while, that is why I am so bad at these types of things, but oh well! I guess I have been busy in ITALY! I am really getting use to traveling and being in Rome. It is scary to think that I have already been here for a whole month. This week I was pretty sick with this crazy cold that is going around, so I have been scrounging to find drugs that will make it less painful. Apparently even the farmacias don't even speak english. This week was pretty packed with classes. We had an Art History test, right after the Florence trip. For my walking tour for Art History we went to a bunch of little churches, because we have reached the Medieval Age...My City of Rome class is pretty much agony. The professor is insane, and yells at me for walking too slow, and having to go to the bathroom. I m so excited it is the weekend! Yesterday, I went to a photography exhibit that was right above the Trevi Fountain. It was some Asian artist, who really captured amazing pictures. Then, we went shopping, although I have been kind of disappointed that I have not found clothes I MUST HAVE. I am just scared to do laundry, because a) it costs like 5 euro, and b) the nuns washer is no bene c) the walk to a laundry mat is incredibly not worth it. By the way, the picture up above is me in florence rubbing this boars nose and throwing a coin in the fountain for good luck. So, here I am in Italy, trying to find my way and live life to its fullest. It really is a wonderful place.

Peace and Love!

Pretty Firenze

Ciao ciao! I just wanted to give a little update on what is going on with life in Italy! This weekend I traveled to Florence for an AMAZING field trip. We stayed the entire weekend there, which was really exciting. I really enjoyed Florence, because it was beautiful and surprisingly clean, compared to Rome. We pretty much had a full weekend visiting art museums and such. I saw the David for the second time, which is pretty breathtaking. He is quite an attracting statue, I am not going to lie. So, I pretty much explored the city, got a total of 5 hours a sleep for the whole weekend, and bought a couple of leather purses. I really want to go back. Now I am just recovering from the weekend. I heart you all mucho, and hopefully I will be a little more frequent in my blog update! Oh and PS this is Mindy and me standing by the river. Aren't we just lovely?

Here is a new album, i keep having to make new ones, because i take pictures like there is no tomorrow http://oxy.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2022701&l=332c2&id=14501905 so check them out. I hope it works! These pictures are of a small beach town that I visited this saturday. It was about an hour outside of Rome, and it was incredibly beautiful, captured by my lovely picture taking skills. Today, I took a huge chance and went to the spanish steps by myself on the subway to go shopping. I FINALLY got Justy a birthday present, and I got another sweater, because my room gets quite cold during the day. LOVE YOU ALL!
